Hi people,
So I believe I'm an adult spd person. I'm feeling confused, scared, lost and a little relived. My main concerns (and the reason for joining) is that I can't be out in public, well not for very long and without looking a bit strange (moving my hands, body, something). I'm new to this diagnosis and guess have always covered up my symptoms/behaviour with alcohol. Now that I am facing the world without that "medicine" I'm finding it frustrating! I appear to have sensory modulation, always fiddling, I can't be in close contact with people as I tend to "sense" their energy and can't take that all in. I give vague eye contact, once again because I can't seem to take it all in. My social and emotional regulation seems to be "out" I seem to miss social cues and seem to interpret what ppl are saying incorrectly ie I go home from time out and question whether people were actually being nasty or not!! I'm hoping someone on here may be able to give me some advice on how to cope with these new observations and diagnosis. I want to be normal and I know now that I'm not, so I'm finding the adjustment and acceptance a bit daunting. Thanks for reading
