Welcome to SPD International.

Now that you've registered, we would love to get to know you and hear from you. It's time you introduced yourself to the rest of the site. Don't worry, we don't bite :P.

Where do I post my introduction?

You are currently in the correct forum at this moment, our Introductions forum. At the top and bottom of the page, whenever you are inside of this forum and not viewing a thread, there will be a button that says "New Topic." This is the button you want to press to start your intro. Not able to find the button? Well, since you are new, I'll make it a bit easier by giving you a link to the New Introduction Topic page here. :D

What should I say in my introduction?

Introductions can be tough, can't they? So, if you want some help, you could try copy/pasting these questions into your intro and answering them. If you answer these questions, you've probably done a good job at introducing yourself:

1. What brings you here?
2. What is your relations to someone with SPD? Do you have it? a child of yours? Do you treat SPD kids as a professional?
3. Share a little of your journey if you'd like.
4. Is there any immediate help you need?
5. SPD doesn't run your life! What are you or your child's gifts? Interests?
6. What do you like to do in your spare time? Any hobbies or interests?

Ultimately, we want to get to know you! Sure, we'll be discussing a lot of SPD stuff on here, and we'll be here to help you as much as you need it. In the end though, you do have a life of your own, your own things that interest you. Please remember to post these things!

What should I not say?

Well, if you aren't sure about what the posting rules are here, please read the Site Rules.

Some other things we don't need to see include your real name, age, or any other overly identifying information, unless you feel free to discuss this information publicly. Please don't post your phone number or complete home address. If you'd like to share this information with someone, please do so in a private message to them for your own protection. Any openly posted phone numbers or home addresses will be deleted. As for your email contact information, people can find you through your profile page; there is no need to release that information publicly unless you don't mind having it available for the world to find it.

Ultimately, don't share anything you don't feel comfortable discussing publicly, because the majority of this site is publicly visible.

Enjoy your stay here!
