My older son Daegan had a playdate yesterday (or whatever you call it when they're 10 yrs old "hanging out"?) and it went very well! The boy is from his class last year and they'll be in the same class together again this year. They did very well together and didn't seem to have any disagreements about what to play. I'm working it out with the mom when to schedule one at their house too. I'm so happy!
And now today we got an invite to that boy's birthday party in September. This is the first birthday invite Daegan has received since 1st grade. The only birthday parties he has been to were either because my younger son was invited and they allowed siblings or we all went to family (cousins) birthday parties.
I'm so happy for him that I could cry! I really hope that this is the start of things getting better for him with friendships.
