My 4 year old has been complaining for quite sometime now about always being itchy. She is hyposensitive and it takes a lot to get her bothered by something. Yesterday she was complaining again about itching, so I asked her to show me where and it was where her clothes touch her skin. She then told me it only gets itchy when she changes her clothes or puts clothes on after her bath.

Has anyone else had a similar issue? I have tried different types of laundry soap but it always makes her itchy. I am going to try the hypoallergenic soap the next load of laundry. Does anyone know if there is a added ingredient that could flare up sensory issues?

We've had that issue in our house for many years, even with our kids who don't have SPD. We buy only the Free and Clear laundry detergent. It doesn't really matter which brand, but I like Tide as it seem to get the clothes cleaner. It could be the dyes or the fragrance in the detergent making her itch.

My boyfriend has issues with every laundry detergent and every body wash with added fragrances. His sister also has these issues, but I don't know if they're quite as general.

We use All Free and Clear - All's hypoallergenic laundry detergent. It makes him not have issues. The ones with added scents give him itchiness and eventually visible rashes.

I also prefer the hypoallergic ones, but my reactions aren't nearly so strong.
