My son is 5 and suppose to go to kindergarten next year. I learned today that his day care will not allow him to stay any longer. He had 6+ tantrums a day. After diagnosis of SPD, an anxiety disorder and an adjustment disorder we started counseling and parent coaching his tantrums went down in #, but he is now more violent - poured yogurt on a kid, slapped another, threw magnets at another. He says it is because they talk talk talk and he just wants them to stop. He said they are in his ears.....he has auditory issues as you can tell. He also is the most empathic child you could meet so he feels so much shame when he acts out. Anyway - I am in Houston, Tx and need to find an appropriate daycare at least until August......if the OT and therapy work, he could be able to start first grade. But for now, i just need a new daycare that goes through the summer. I have to work and have no family in town. Any help is appreciated. As you all seem to know this is a rollercoaster of emotion - today, I am scared and lonely - my partner thinks it is all behavioral and with better discipline he would shape up.....anyway.
