Hi all,
I am doing some internet research as to how to tell the difference between ADDHS and SPD/SID. My 6 year old son has a complicated medical history and although now he is physically healthy, he is beginning to struggle in school. He received OT for SID as a baby and infant (as well as 3 years of behavioral feeding therapy to get him off a feeding tube). It is, however, becoming clear to me that many of his daily and school issues are either continued SID issues and maybe even SPD that has not been formally diagnosed. I have a teacher conference today to address some of these issues. When my son was a very sick baby I joined a reflux support group that was a wealth of knowledge (parents sometimes knew more than the doctors) and I am hoping SPD support group will do the same. Thanks!
