RE: What are your favorite OT toys and tools for your kids? - heather40 - 10-19-2012
you can also get a gallon size ziploc baggie and this will help wtih tactile and fill it with just enough cornstarch and water. (we call this moon mud) add some food coloring, but you can use your finger to write in it and then it goes right back to the shape it was. OH OH OH!! Shaving cream on the table!!!!!!!!!! That is always fun! My son used to vomit when it came out of the can! But the OT did it with him over and over again and now he loves it! that is great for writing in and fun!!!! Really makes the table clean too! That is another good tactile thing. Grasping; large noodles and take them to put into the shape of the letters, have to grasp the noodle and place it, or use large tweezers! Squeezing will help build fine motor! I love teaching!!!!!!! lol You can go to the $1 store and they have the bug kits with teh large tweezers in them.
