Hi! - gracing99 - 02-12-2015
I am the mother of a six year old boy who has SPD and potentially ADD/ADHD. He has been on medication to help with his attention, which has been working remarkably well. As far as the SPD, he recently seemed to regress back to old habits/symptoms - like sucking on the collar of his shirt. He has also been so clingy and called/came home from school sick twice this week (even though there doesn't appear to be anything wrong with him - took him to doctor first time and nothing). Any advice or suggestions, etc. would be helpful. Thanks!

Hi. My son is 5 and struggling with sensory issues (not yet evaluated by an OT) and does not have ADD, at least per the evaluations done by a developmental pediatrician. But many of his behaviors are very much like AD(H)D. I'm new here myself. If your son is not yet diagnosed as AD(H)D, what medication has he been prescribed?
The reason I ask is because it seems that ADHD is one of those diagnoses that meets the criteria for an IEP at school, and your son could get services because of that. My son's classmate has and AD(H)D diagnosis and does get OT at school because of it.
