Well, I have been a member of the yahoo group where this group started for about 3 years now, so I am not entirely new, but here I am. I have three kids who all have varying degrees of spd along with other diagnosis. My eldest son is 7 and has Asperger's syndrome along with SPD. He originally was just diagnosed with SPD and that is when I joined the group. My middle little girl is 4 and has SPD along with oral motor problems and developmental delays. My youngest is 18 months old and diagnosed with SPD although we believe him to be on the autism spectrum and we are currently seeking out an underlying diagnosis.
I originally came to the Yahoo group seeking answers about my eldest and I have received more support through the group than we have ever received through therapists and doctors. I look forward to more helpful advice as we move along.

Heya, welcome :3 It must be a handful to have 3 kids all with SPD, not to mention enlightening though. It's great to see that they're getting help early on though, it sucks to go your whole life with undiagnosed problems and not get any help for 'em.
*hug* Take care and keep strong :3 and can't wait to see you around more often ^^

Welcome to SPD International there. I'm thrilled to have you on board. Yay! I hope you like things here and are able to continue to get to know people here. Part of the reason for building this site was to keep those of us who have been around for a few years a bit more interested in coming back. I found it harder to keep the focus and interest in the Yahoo group when the topics kept coming up again and again, and there weren't a lot of off topic discussions to keep a bit of variety. Here we have an off-topic forum and a few other features that should keep things a bit more varied and interesting here.

I may have told you this before, and I probably did, but I once again just want to reiterate how proud I am of you for keeping up this battle for so long and doing so very well at it. I've always loved the amazing group of caring parents on there.

Aw, thank you so much for sharing that. I am glad that group has been such a tremendous support for you. I also joined over there (a bit less than) 3 years ago, so I wouldn't be surprised if you remember me first joining, lol. I found so much support there I just couldn't get enough of it. So when the opportunity came to give back to the group by helping run it, I couldn't resist.
The same lady who set up that group also bought the domain for this website years ago. She just had a single unchanging web page here though, and I envisioned this being an excellent home for a tremendous support site. I went to work on it as soon as I was given the ability to be the webmaster here, and built these forums.
I hope you are able to have a great time here. Stop by often and feel free to post around. You're a great person and hope people get to know you. Take care.

Hi, I just joined and am glad to find a board like this. I have 4 kids, 2 who have SPD (they are 3 1/2 and 25 months) as well as developmental delay and speech delay.
I look forward to getting to know you better!
Ali
