Adult clothing?! - arrrrgh! - 03-29-2016 Hi, Just joined. Have been dealing with the symptoms my entire life. Only realized how differently I experienced the world when a friend of mine suffered a traumatic brain injury a few years ago and described her new, awful sensitivity to light, sound, etc. I thought it was odd that she was describing my daily life! Anyway, I've been diagnosed by a neurologist, seeing an OT. That's great, but I need to know where to get professional clothes that LOOK the part but are comfortable! I sometimes have to wear suits for my job, and I hate it. HATE IT! I have managed to make my career where I can work from home in workout clothes almost all the time. And I've become a total slob! It feels so much better than regular clothes. But I really need to find some nice looking stuff that doesn't constrict, have tight waist, stiff seams, etc. I've looked at some of the "yoga inspired" suits. But honestly, those are not going to cut it when going to court, etc. Suggestions welcome! Thanks RE: Adult clothing?! - mrskerrybeasley - 04-04-2016 hi there my name is Kerry I am thinking of starting a business for sensory products as I notice there is not a lot of products out there for teenagers and adults.I am doing research for my business.... what materials/fabrics can you stand on your skin? thankyou in advance for sharing your thoughts yours faithfully Kerry sending hugs...x RE: Adult clothing?! - Ananiujitha - 04-18-2016 I have trouble with chafing, elastics, wool, and polyester. I have always had trouble with wool, but didn't used to have trouble with spandex, and with polyester. I think it's a combination of my spd and my chronic illness. Other people report trouble with tags. RE: Adult clothing?! - mrskerrybeasley - 04-18-2016 (04-18-2016, 05:07 PM)Ananiujitha Wrote: I have trouble with chafing, elastics, wool, and polyester. Wrote: Hi, RE: Adult clothing?! - ravensong - 08-13-2017 I needed to wear pants with a suit and nothing would cut it for being comfy enough. I went to a nursing outfitter's/ scrubs supply store, and was able to order a pair of black, straight cut, drawstring/elastic waist scrub pants that were actually more comfortable than my pjs. (Gray's Anatomy brand) Super soft, low wrinkle, I was even able to iron a pleat in it! You just have to cut off the tag, rotate the drawstring/waistline inwards if you are going to tuck your shirt in, and somehow explain the butt pocket, but if you always need to wear your jacket anyway, you can get away with a lot! Best is plain cotton or polyester cotton blend with fabric softener. |
