Hurricane Irene - LynnNBoys - 08-30-2011
Or rather Tropical Storm Irene by the time it got to us. Our power got knocked out Sunday morning and they said it could take up til 5 days to get it back. I heard a rumor of Wed for us and hope that's true. Pain in the butt having no electricity.

It hit us Saturday and we just got our power back today. Oh and also - this was the same week week as the earth quake Words are inadequate to describe my child with SPD during the power outage. Let's just say I am thankful now more than ever for fans and white noise.

I got pretty lucky and avoided just about anything having to do with Irene. I'm not expecting to stay this lucky all season though, Florida is due for another big one.

We got our power back today! Whew! I really didn't want to go through the weekend with no power. Kids were supposed to start school today but it was postponed until Tuesday!
Oh and yes, Angela! The last few days have been hell with SPD kids. Major interruption to normal routines. We spent the nights at BIL's house since they had power. Didn't have their weighted blankets with us, no fans for white noise. Lots of meltdowns and anxiety! Ugh!

Wow -- you poor things!!! I am in FL as well and I am sure we will be getting one soon -- we always do! I cannot imagine no power, no white noise, etc. My child would not sleep! Glad to hear that the power has returned
I am going to pray that no storms come my way
Glad to hear that routines can begin to resume!!

Parts of Annapolis, MD (my home) and the surrounding areas are STILL without power! And those are city residents!
Luckily I never lost any power.

Power is essential and I can't imagine without it. I live in Asia and tropical storms are but part of our existence
