SPD International Video Gamers - UNITE! - kaworuchan - 06-08-2010 This thread is for people on this forum who absolutely love the joys that video games can offer. I have a 360, a Wii, and a PS2. And I play all of them on a regular basis, although the system that gets the most play is easily the 360. I am a huge fan of JRPGs, primarilly, although I have fallen in love with American RPGs like Mass Effect, Oblivion, Fallout 3, and Fable. Oh, and if anybody here wanted to play something like Modern Warfare 2 or Gears of War 1 & 2 co-op with me on the 360, my gamertag is in my signature. The invitation is open to anybody here. :-) Who else here is a gamer, I wonder? RE: SPD International Video Gamers - UNITE! - mawkinberd - 06-08-2010 I used to be a very active gamer, but I was more into MMORPG's. I was very active in Rappelz for a while, for instance. I also was a part of the RM2K community briefly, but I mostly played games other people wrote, like "Damienzeking" from France with his Laxius Power series. I also like old school text only rpg's. Basically, I just love rpg's. lol I'm most fond of story driven ones, though. I may not be able to help with the current games much, but I sure love them. RE: SPD International Video Gamers - UNITE! - beck7422 - 06-08-2010 I am a Gamer. However, I have sensory problems with modern Video Games. When Doom first came out, I had to switch from being a Video Gamer to pretty much any other game type. Doom made me very ill. Most video games now flash too much for me to handle. My light sensitivity is so bad that anything that would cause an Epileptic problems visually will also cause me problems. I love WoW, but like it better now that a friend helped me turn down the visual details and light brightness in the game. I don't like shoot em ups video games. I am more of a MMORPG, CRPG, and puzzle game person. I play and GM D&D live. I also play a ton of board games. RE: SPD International Video Gamers - UNITE! - Dani - 06-24-2010 My systems; (favorite games): -------------------------- Atari 2600; (River Raid, Pac-Man, Combat, Centipede, Super Breakout, Pong) Nintendo Entertainment System; (Super Mario I and III) Sega Mastersystem; (Chopperlift, Super Hang On) Sega Genesis I (x2), II, and III; (Any and all Sonic games, Vectorman I and II, Cool Spot, Decap Attack, NBA Jam) Super NES; (Donkey Kong Country I, II, and III, NHL 93, Mario All-Stars) Sega Saturn; (Virtua Cop I and II, Virtua Fighter II, NHL All Star Hockey 98, Nights) N64 (x2); (Mario 64, Perfect Dark, NHL 99, Tony Hawk I and II) Sega Dreamcast; (Tony Hawk 2) Playstation II (x2); (Every GTA title from III onward, NHL 2002 and 2004, every Tony Hawk from 3 onward) Xbox 360; (GTA IV, Sonic's Sega Genesis Collection, plus: Halo I and Tony Hawk 2x from the original Xbox) Oh, and my handhelds: Game Boy; (Donkey Kong Land - all of them) Sega Game Gear (blue); (Every Sonic title) Game Boy Color; (Tetris DX, Star Wars Pod Racer) Game Boy Advance; (All the retro Nintendo releases that I own, Sonic 2, Doom) And, yes, I do have a PC, with mostly older games: (Warcraft II and III, Doom and Doom II, Roller Coaster Tycoon, SimCity 3000, Tetris, Solitaire, Sonic Games, Tony Hawk Games, GTA III, VC, and SA, and the really old ones: Sammy the Snake, Solitaire Jewel Thief, Oregon Trail, and Gorillas ) RE: SPD International Video Gamers - UNITE! - kaworuchan - 06-28-2010 I am tempted to pick up this video game when it comes out tomorrow. I'll most likely wait on it, though. Take note that I had to sit through the trailer for Crackdown 2 before it displayed the trailer I really wanted to watch. :-S Naughty Bear Launch Trailer RE: SPD International Video Gamers - UNITE! - kaworuchan - 11-08-2010 Time for some thread necromancy here. I recently started playing through Record of Agarest War, on "Hard" difficulty. It is really a challenge. Oh, and to those of you who have seen the American advertising for the game and are thinking that is hentai, I assure you it is not. It's very tame on that respect, actually. I also started playing Wolfenstein 3-D. The original, accept no substitutes. The very first FPS ever released. It's older than Doom. And the Nazi guards in this game have very stupid A.I. - I usually just take one step into a room, fire a shot, step outside, and wait for them to go through the door to meet my machine gun fire. Heh. I picked up Risk Factions, and it is what the title says it is - the board game Risk translated into a video game with additional rules. I've been having some fun with that, although I am glad I got it as an XBox DotW instead of paying the full $10 for it. I also recently picked up a used copy of Red Dead Redemption. Haven't actually started playing it yet...... Those are my current gaming habits. RE: SPD International Video Gamers - UNITE! - mawkinberd - 11-09-2010 My boss is a hard-core gamer, and he *loved* Red Dead Redemption. He couldn't decide if he wanted to be a good guy or a bad guy, though. lol I loved Wolfenstein 3-D when I used to play it. I had it in one of those 10 cd's for 10 dollars deals at Wal-Mart way back in the day, right along with fun things like Wizardry 7 and Bard Tales. It was a hoot! You're right, the Nazis in that were really dumb. lol I just got a Wii, and I've been having fun with that. Got any favs on the Wii? I just got Mario Kart (mainly for my husband and son). My son is too young to figure out much, but since his being 12th place doesn't bother my standing in the race any, I just let him have fun. He thinks it's great. I'd really like a good RPG, though. We got Lego Harry Potter, too, but I've almost finished it only playing two or three hours a day for two weeks. >.< I know it's funny, but gosh! A little challenge, please? lol RE: SPD International Video Gamers - UNITE! - kaworuchan - 11-09-2010 If you want a Wii game that will challenge you, check out Super Meat Boy from the WiiWare store. That game is an insane platformer that demands insane reflexes in order to clear the levels. Here's a trailer...... Super Meat Boy Trailer My favorite Wii game is Twilight Princess, of course. I also loved Resident Evil 4 for the Wii - don't let your children play that, though. RE: SPD International Video Gamers - UNITE! - mawkinberd - 11-09-2010 Holy cow! Insane is right. I don't think I have the reflexes for that anymore. LOL I love how the keys look just like the old Atari Adventure game that was about a dot trying to get a chalice into the golden castle.... Good times! I desperately want Twilight Princess. Every review I've seen of it tells me that it would be *right* up my alley. Oh well, guess I'll have to wait till next payday. And my husband would love Resident Evil... but yeah, the 2 year old can't watch that one. lol RE: SPD International Video Gamers - UNITE! - y2sky2003 - 11-10-2010 Awesome thread idea! I've been playing video games since I was old enough to pick up a controller. Started on my dad's Intellivision and Atari 2600, then kept up with Nintendo consoles until college (through N64). At that point, MMORPGs and PC gaming took over. Played Everquest for 4 years, World of Warcraft off and on the past 6, and currently playing Everquest II. Also have several XBox 360 games, but my console Red Ring'ed a couple months ago. Probably replacing it at Christmas or shortly thereafter, but I'm a huge fan of Oblivion, Bioshock, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (dying to play the newly released sequel), and Final Fantasy XIII. Also, I play quite a lot of Magic: the Gathering, both in person and online. |
