can you sum up SPD in a paragraph? - owensmum - 03-04-2012
when we were first told Owen was on the autistic spectrum, we found some great little cards from the NAS that explain in brief what ASD is and where to learn more. Great for the "tutters" when you're out and about.
Want to do something similar that explains SPD - am thinking more to give to his TKD instructor, footy coach and riding instructor and can be given to any supply teachers that encounter him etc.
No clue where to start though! Have just finished reading The out of sync child and am starting on sensational kids.... also have raisng a sensory smart child to read too. Its really difficult to explain though as its so varied and Owen seems to not only be sensory seeking but at the same time is tactile defensive as well as dyspraxic... hes like a little bundle of contradictions!
