I was officially diagnosed with SPD a year ago. I have never been a big hand washer I would occasionally but recently I had to start doing it more often because my family member recently had surgery and we didn't want him to get sick from germs. The weird thing is I'm not really over sensitive to things usually but my hands have been getting dried out lately and it bugs the crap out of me and I cant stand it, I want to just take my hands off but I then put a little lotion on which helps for a little while. Any one have any suggestions ?

use an emoilient to wash with instead of soap, something like epaderm - it'll leave a barrier on your skin after washing

My daughter has the same problem. It turned out to be the soap. We switched to a hypoallergenic foaming toddler soap and she no longer gets the dry, cracked hands.
