I've been a "member" here for quite some time, but I've only now posted. I always find it very hard to introduce myself, so bear with me here.
Hi, I'm Quasar. Like many of you here, I have SPD(among other stuff, but that's not important right now). I'm mostly a technical sort of guy- my biggest hobbies are computers and technologies, but astronomy and cosmetology are also things I enjoy a lot(hence my name). Unfortunately, as of late, I haven't had much time for such things because I was employed recently. I'm sure many of you can relate when I say it can be hard to get a job- especially when you have sensory issues. My job couldn't contrast my main interests more though. I'm a dietary aide at a hospital; its my job to make sure patients are getting food which are on their diets, as well as numerous other things. I like it, but I dislike having to work 5am-7pm weekends, with a 30 minute drive both ways. Because I do find medical stuff interesting and watch a lot of medical type of shows, as well as research things. I am pretty good at it, despite having been doing it for only a few months. My biggest issue is not getting overloaded, which is hard, especially on weekends. We basically do a 6-7 person job with 2-3 people and it gets crazy. Because my social skills aren't the best, the social side of the job is also hard on me. Sometimes we have to deal with disgruntled patients or nurses, etc, and I'm not sure how to handle it. And sometimes it can be something so ridiculous you don't want to handle it, but you have to...
Rambled enough about that, me thinks. Anyway, nice to be a member here and finally get my intro post out of the way. Nothing to stop me from actually contributing now... well, aside from life, of course, lol.
