I have wondered about this myself. My brother was allergic to cow's milk, so we raised goats when I was small. But I have no idea if casein is in goat's milk. And the more I investigate my family's illness history, the more I wonder about the links in all this. There is a strong genetic component in sensory problems, and my father's side of the family has all kinds of history of things like autism, SPD, and related things like dyslexia. And since there are a lot of food allergies there, too, I'm a bit concerned and wonder how that all links in.
I think it's ridiculous that a doctor wouldn't know more about nutrition. It's a major component of health! :/
Yes the poo would be a problem! With two kids not fully potty trained I deal with enough poo!
There is casein in goats milk however it has a different protein structure and some people who can't have cows milk can have goat's milk. Unfortunately, a lot of the goats milk from the store is ultrapasteurized which then makes it hard to digest again.
There are some really good books out there RE the connection between Autism, ADHD, SPD, learning disabilities, asthma and food allergies.

http://www.amazon.com/Kid-Friendly-Autis...360&sr=1-1 (the first half of this is informational about special diets and the second half is quite a good cook book IMO)
Dr. Sear's Autism Book touches on it a bit too.
