RE: What music do you stim to?
Cat Power
Joni Mitchell
Led Zeppelin
Kaki King
The Band
The Doors
Neil Young
Norah Jones
Paul Simon (some)
Trixie Whitley
In general I like older music. As a kid I loved fifties doo-wop music. Later on I got more into sixties and seventies music. I hate 80's and 90's music and anything electronic or techno.
I love anything with great vocals like Cat power, and joni mitchell.
I really like the sound of old sixties twangy rock guitars. I don't know what amp they use to get that sound, but I can always tell. My b/f told me once what type of guitar and amp it was.
Anything with really good guitar is my favourite.
kaki king does amazing things on guitar and doesn't sing, which is nice for writing to.
Usually I like to sing while I clean and cook so that's when I put on something with good vocals like cat power, or etta james, or even the band (especially with rick danko singing).
As a teenager I liked pop music with good singing like Hanson and Jewel, but I was embarrassed to tell anyone I liked hanson at that age because all the kids in my school made fun of them, but they are actually great musicians and have only gotten better since they grew up.
Oops, almost forgot Santana. I don't like all his stuff, but there are a few really great songs I listen to over and over like Samba Pa Ti and Black Magic Woman.
