Over-responsive AND Sensory Seeking?
So I have mild spd--and I've found that I meet all the adult symptoms for over-responsiveness, but also most of the sensory seeking ones. Is this normal? To be very sensitive to stimulation but also seek it? Like I get really car sick, but I also obsesses over roller coasters--so weird. In classes, videos moderately loud for most are unbearable for me, but I'll also be rocking (or other stims) when the room is totally silent but the professor speaking. Do other people experience this as well? I feel like these totally contradict each other!!
On a side note, does anyone else find certain situations in which they don't feel over stimulated at all (finding that you rarely stim), but similar situations--maybe with different people or a less familiar place--you're suddenly back to leg shaking, rocking behaviours?
